Scania’s engine range comprises 5- and 6-cylinder inline engines and the legendary V8. Outputs extend from 230 to 620 hp. The current line-up complies with Euro 4 and Euro 5, and a selection of engines with the even stricter EEV standard (enhanced environmentally friendly vehicle).

Emission technologies include EGR (exhaust gas recirculation), where the combustion process is optimised, and SCR (selective catalytic reduction), where the exhaust gases are cleaned in an aftertreatment process in the silencer.
