Efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand

Working with environmental issues is our social responsibility and ensures both our employees and our customers that Scania products meet high standards and are manufactured in a sound way.

One key challenge for Scania is climate change. The environmental impact of the transport sector is a major source of greenhouse gases and must decrease.

Scania is convinced that it is possible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from commercial vehicles by 50 percent per tonne-kilometre by 2020. This is achievable through greater use of renewable fuels and continuous improvements in vehicles including hybrid technology, as well as by obtaining the approval of public authorities to operate longer vehicles that carry more cargo.
