Recently, the winner of Young European Truck Driver 2010, Andreas Söderström, received his prize – a Scania R 620. It was immediately put to good use.
The world’s largest truck driver competition and training event, Scania Driver Competitions, tests drivers for the fifth year in 2012.
Andreas Söderström, the 27-year old Swede who won the Young European Truck Driver championship, was honoured at a ceremony held at the Scania transport conference in Brussels on 26 January.

For 26-year old Andreas Söderström it has been an amazing weekend. On Saturday he gained first prize in the Young European Truck Driver competition in Södertälje.
A dream came true for Andreas Soderstrom. The 26-year-old truck driver from Ingelstad in Swedish Småland was almost as happy to be Europe’s best young truck driver as he was for the amazing price – a brand new R-series truck.

Fernando Pitanga, 35, from Salvador Bahia is Brazil’s best truck driver. His prize included a trip to Sweden and the Young European Truck Driver final. The highlight of his visit was taking a Scania R 730 for a drive.
